Only have a PCI slot but need to update video card. These are the ones that I have found (and that I can afford!):

1) ATI Radeon 9250 256 MB 2)nVidia GeForce FX 5500 256 MB 3)VisionTech Xtasy Radeon-9100 128 MB 4) VisionTek Xtasy 9200 SE 128 MB

Can anyone advise between these? I can't find reviews on all of them. Thanks!

Get the ATI 9250 for sure, geforce is a piece of crap, I got a later addition and runs hl2 choppy still.

Why should poor computers exist?

ATi runs HL2 better but in the long run you will be happier with the 5500. So I say, GeForce.

Fooker the PCi gfx cards will run like sh!t compaired to AGP gfx cards, so u can get either make and ur not guna see much perfomance difference. I recommend a new Motherboard with a AGP port.

cant fit my system in

Again, I'm agreeing with Lister. AGP slots have more than twice the bandwidth of PCI slots(save PCI Express), witch limits the capabilities and sheer power of high-end graphics cards. Lack of an AGP slot is reason enough to get a new mobo, just make sure you get a mobo/CPU bundle if your old cpu is incompatable(you'll save $ that way). Just go to pricewatch.com, I saved over $150 going that route.
For the video card, again go to pricewatch; just make sure you get a GeForce FX card(at least a 5500), there's no beating it in stability, compatability, and performance.
