In games like Need for Speed - Underground & Flatout (both demos). These games have been running really slowly. Not slowly like low framerate slowly, slowly like slow motion slowly. When I check FPS using fraps, It shows FPS at around 80 - 120, but the game is still really slow. It actually seems to get better at lower framerates.

your CPU is a bit slow. AMD XP 1800 should be around 1.4-1.5ghz. slow cpu cant properly feed top-of-of-the-line video card. especially if the game is CPU-bound game. the performance is not base on the video card, its base on the CPU speed, faster CPU you have, better performance. and the other possibility is before you run the game, press ctrl-alt-del and check out how much memory available. if its less than 256mb, then i suggest you upgrade the ram to 768mb or 1 gig(especially if you are using ddr pc2100). cuz the game today, required at least 256mb ram(minimum).

P4 3.2GHZ
kingstom 1GB DDR 3200
Nvidia geforce FX 5950 256mb

The problem is not that the game is too intense for my system!
