I do not know the game or how old it is, but you should be able to install it using compatibility with the older systems. Understand though that if it is really old and the game or its installer is in 16bit then it will not work at all on Windows 7 or 8 which will work with 32bit (32bit and 64bit versions) and 64bit (64bit versions only) programs.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Reference to here:

With those specs, it's quite obviously a 16-bit program, and as such will NOT work on anything newer than Windows XP.

I would recommend getting Dosbox ( and running it in there. That's the easiest way to do it, but sometimes programs won't work properly within the emulator.

(DO the following steps WITHOUT any quotes)
When it installs, there will be a folder called "DOSBox" on the root of your C: (OS)drive. Go there, and create a new folder called "drive". Start DOSBox and once you're at the prompt, type "MOUNT C C:\DOSBox\drive". This will use the folder "drive" as the emulator's C: drive. Once that's done, type "MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom", which will mount the D: (CD) drive and make it accessible by DOSBox. Then do whatever you need to do to install and run the game.

You can edit DOSBox's config to run all this at startup, but I haven't used it in a long time and as such have forgotten the exact way to it. I'm also a tad bit lazy at the moment, I may come back and finish later.

Thanks very much. My son's been researching this for me and is really trying to help. (yes he was trying to type Phantasmagoria, a Sierra game, I believe) . We will work on this this weekend and see what needs to be done.
