My video card is kinda crappy (GeForce 2) and it runs all my games just fine. But the problem is I went to go and get a new driver, and it says it cannot install the driver as my cmomputer doesnt have a product that is made by NVidia, wich mine is. I was wondering someone could PLEASE help me out with this driver problem.

If everything is working properly, what are you trying to do?

A 'new driver' isn't a new card

I would guess that the "newer" drivers no longer support such old video cards.

Actually, it would depend which GF2 card he has. The latest nVidia drivers (v93.71) still support the GeForce2 MX series, but not:

GeForce 256
GeForce DDR
GeForce2 GTS
GeForce2 Pro
GeForce2 Ti
GeForce2 Ultra

If he has one of the above cards, driver v71.89 is the last to support them:

The reason I need a new driver is becasue that is what I have been lead to bieleve will get rid of "screen tears". Thanks for the help guys. I will let ya know if it works or not!

So "it runs all my games just fine." was not true at all if you're experiencing screen tearing

.... and so it goes

I meant it runs my games just fine as in it will run them perfectly with the exception of the screen tears. Like I shouldnt even be able to play games like CS:Source, Half-Life 2, Empire Earth 2, and it goes on, but I do anyway. Im not sure what happened, but yeah. Oh! And that driver didnt fix my problem. I still have s---loads of screen tears. Any other suggestions?

That doesn't surprise me & you shouldn't be miffed that the driver update failed to get rid of the artifacting either. No amount tweaking in the world will help your card perform beyond its processing limitations.

You know what the *real* problem is - so fix it.

Give it up for MC Rove
