Hi,
I just got given a 128Mb GeXCube Radeon 9600XT from a friend to replace my current 64Mb integrated video. I installed it and it works fine when running standard applications in Windows (XP), but when I try running games the computer goes hay-wire. Different games seem to provoke differnt responses from the computer heres what happens:Warcraft3: Either reboots itself or shows the main title screen which begins to blur and smudge.
Lego - STar Wars: Shows company logos then freezes on "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..." screen.
Prince of Persia(WW): The monitor switches off as if I had shut down the computer.
Im stumped as I know very little about video cards and I was hoping somebody could shed some light on the situation.
Thanks in advance.

did you disable your integrated graphics chip in the bios?
Have you completely uninstalled your IGP drivers?
did you download and install ATI's catalyst drivers for your 9600xt?
abit is7 i865pe
Prescott 2.8ghz @ 4004Mhz 286x14
FSB @ 1144Mhz
512x2 in dual config @ 430mhz
PNY 6800 16x1,5vp

In addition to the above, make sure to install the latest motherboard chipset drivers....
Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8.5 x 200MHz
768MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro

Could be an overheating issue, too, but the other theories seem far more likely.
"Republicans in Congress are moving to ratify a constitutional amendment to ban flag burning, thus ending the Iraq insurgency."
