I recently got a PC game "the sims 2" it ONLY DVD COMPATIBLE.,when i put it into the drive , nothing comes up or it doesnt get detected or found.ive insltall the lastest DirectX 9.0c

I have the exact same problem, when i put the disc in nothing happens and its now showing in any of the disk drives either! It works on any other computer except this one.
On the back of the CD case theres a list of requirements you need for it to work, have you made sure you've got all of them? and I have, but it still doesn't work, so maybe it's my computer.

This may be a silly question, but do you have a DVD Rom? Later version of this game including Sims 2 Deluxe and later EP's require a CD/DVD Rom to install and run the game.
