My CD rom broke can I play Sims 2 without a disc?

Specs: Windows Vista
I purchased all the disc and have them installed on my computer. My CD rom is busted and I can't afford to replace it right now but, I don't think that means I should not be able to enjoy the money I invested in my favorite game!? Right? Is there a way to play Sims 2 without a disc?

Or is what I am asking illegal? (If it is thats not fair! :o(

Difficult topic.
There are things called No-CD Cracks. But the problem is, they can be legal and illegal. Check out this topic.
It does say in many countries(not specified) that you can legally use no CD cracks providing you have the legit copy. It would become illegal if you don't own an original copy.

So as long as you keep the original CD and have the key with it, it should be fine to use. (I say "should" because it doesn't state specific country laws for it)

Google for "Sims2 No CD"

Personally, I don't give a crap about what I use on my PC. But this forum does have rules so I'm just being careful about what I say :)
