Okay, here we go,
I would like to know if it is possible to multiplay LAN games on one machine with multiple monitors, inputs, and using virtual machine software? I have both VMWare and Parallel's software. If necessary, my full specs are:
nMedia HTPC 300BA case
Abit AN8 32x motherboard
Opteron 165 (dual core) @ 1.8GHz (...for now. 'Could use help with the OC, too)
w/ Zalman CNPS7000Cu HSF
2GB (2x1GB) OCZ Platinum PC3200 @ 2.5-3-2-5 RAM
ATI Radeon x850xt PE 256MB @ 590MHz/609MHz
NEC 3550A dual layer DVD writer
Mitsumi FA404M floppy w/ 7-in-1 card reader
Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth (2.0) keyboard & mouse
Thanks, everyone!

How so? What would you think would be a better spec for this, other than upgrading the video card? I think a dual core Opteron 165 would handle it with no problem...well at least after being OC'd to 2.7GHz or so like I've seen. I just haven't had much reason to OC yet because everything runs relatively fast on it.

It's not going to work well with most games that need 3d hardware acceleration.

What you're missing about VMWare is what hardware it emulates within the VM. Check how your graphics card is listed in the VM under device manager. ;-)

Virtualization is not for gaming. VM's still cannot harness the full potential of graphics cards yet.
