Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate forum for this post, but it relates to gaming...
I have heard plenty about MS-DOS games were the user writes his/hers actions, text based games, and i wanted to try that. So, the question is:
Can I instal/run MS-DOS inside Windows?
And if you may, recomend me some MS-DOS games^^.
Best Regards
PS:Is MS-DOS free?

Sure you can. You don't even need MS-DOS. All you need is the free DOSBox emulator. It runs all of my DOS classics without any compatibility issues at all.
Well, to begin with you already have MSDOS on your XP. It is an MSDOS emulator, which means it doesnt have all the bells and whistles of the older operating systems. This will lead to some bugs occurring in xp. You can try rightclicking the file and open under an older operating system, but it has a very low success rate.
Secondly, c++ can be used to make dos apps or games. Granted it isnt the most user friendly language, you can make text based games, and depending how far you take c++, you could incorporate graphics or network capabilities. (Although this is a mental intensive and difficult process) I also think newer languages like c# or visual basic can compile to msdos app.
IMHO, I would reccommend learning flash actionscript. It will allow you to learn game making MUCH easier than something like c++. Mainly because you can make graphic animations with ease.
