yeah..there is a bios chipset identifier. One program is BeLarc Advisor, handy tool which analyzes your computer and tells you almost everything you use(RAM,MOTHERBOARD).
and there is one more called BIOSwizard or something like that. Try finding for bios identifiers in search engines such as yahoo.
