I currently have a Toahiba laptop with 512 MB DDR Ram, 1.73 Ghz Pentium M, and 128 MB Video Card which is shared. I kno laptops arent the best for games but for the specs provided i think the games that i played should be easily handled by the laptop. I had a dektop with the same specs that easily handled the same games with ease. Is it the fact my video card is shared? Would getting another 256 MB DDR Ram increase performance of games?

More info on my laptop is will be here :

"Would getting another 256 MB DDR Ram increase performance of games?"
Onboard graphics with shared RAM are not good for gaming...adding more RAM will help overal system performance, but the onboard video will always limit your gaming performance. If you wanted your laptop for games, you should have bought a gaming laptop.

Before thinking about upgrading your RAM.. Im sure your laptop only have 2 SO-DIMM spot.. Make sure your 512MB RAM is 1x512MB.. If it is 2x256MB... Then you cannot put another 256MB in it to make it 768... You'll need to buy 512MB and replace the 256 to make it 768 = 512 + 256...

Here is something that I just found out about laptops. I had a friend tell me that he was working on a laptop and purchased a Kingston 512 stick to put in it to make the laptop run faster. Upon installing the ram the computer would not read that it was there. There are limits on some laptops on how much it will read. For expample the laptop my friend was working on would only recognize 512 total. So you may want to make sure your computer will support more before you go out and spend money on a new stick.
