You'd prob want to get a 512mb then run it with ur 256mb instead of buyin another 256mb.

RAM is pretty cheap these days...

I would recommend buying another 512mb stick of ram, DDR is so cheap at the moment, better gets some while it's still cheap, once DDR 2 comes out and it will be before long then soon enough original DDR prices will go up, look at old SDRAM, it's getting very pricey now and not long ago you buy bags full of it for cheap

Nowadays you need at least a gig of RAM.

I agree with Avarik, a gig of RAM is minimum these days

Since ive upgraded to a GB of RAM the only difference ive noticed is that i can run multiple programs better, like PS, flash etc..

I dont think game performance really increased, unless im just used to it now :p

i was thinking, is 1gb of ram over the top? i mean, i dont have any conection to the internet on this computer, and no unnessesery processes running. no programs running, and no programs next to the windows clock.

Yes, 1GB is over the top, I'm a heavy duty gamer with all recent titles (Far Cry etc.) and always have loads of muck running in the b/ground and I have no trouble at all with 512MB.

Some people are like Slinkies™, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Yes I have 1GB of RAM and you wont notice a game performing better if u go from 512 to 1gig.so just buy another stick of 256 and yes u will notice the game load MUCH Faster.

If u buy the ram and install it try typing this cammand in the console of call of duty.

Atleast 512. Im considering upgrading to 1gb very soon. And yes games perform much better with 512 but still id reccomend 1gb.
