Hey all
As I am using my GPRS on my mobile to connect to the net and activate HL2 (its charged per MB), I was just wandering if people could tell me how much is downloaded roughly when u activate? Just so I can work out how much it might cost :S

I don't think the data transfer is very much at all. Most of the time required is to decrypt the files that are on your hard-drive. I would guess that the actaul data transferred would be less than 1 MB. Just a guess though.
But, there is the issue of patches. I don't recall if the game attempted to download the patches when I activated or the first time I played. You will want to make sure that you set up steam to run in offline mode or you will not be able to play wihtout being connected to the net. Plus, if you run in online mode the game will download any updates when you start it up.
