hi all.

i have an HP DC7100S (sff computer).

it has a pci express slot that it low profile. the computer has a pentium 4 3.2ghz HT with 1gb ram and a sata hdd and a dvd burner. all of this runs on a 240watt power supply :|

i want to put in a better graphics card than the crummy intel graphics it has.

what can you recommend that is better than intel 900 graphics, is low profile, and doesn't use a lot of power. i just want to free up the memory the intel graphics card uses and get decent performance for N64 emulation. what can you recommend?

No try! Do. Or do not. There is no try.

There are plenty of low profile choices available depending on how much you're willing to spend. Here's one possibility:

Both cards use 64-bit memory but I think the X1650Pro would outperform the 8400GS.

really? what about power usage? i'm limited to a 240 watt psu here. so performance per watt is important, so is performance per dollar.

if there any card (money is no factor) that is low profile and has a 128bit memory interface?

No try! Do. Or do not. There is no try.

if money is seriously no object then id recommend this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...
It will provide a perfect solution for moderate gaming and it has great bang for buck. there is no better performing card in the low profile selection at newegg from what i can see. only problem is there doesnt seem to be a low profile bracket included.
If a low profile bracket is necessary id go with this one:

Its a tad more expensive.

Ya I agree the geforce 8600gt is good for the price/performance ratio. However my system used to have a 250w power supply and had the asus radeon x1550. I found it to be a great card for general use, even for occasional playing of Battlefield(On Medium-high settings). If I remember correctly it was Pretty small too. It's 128 bit aswell. Here you go, its very cheap now.
