Okay... now I got a AGP GeForce 6600GT, but within CSS (Counter-Strike: Source) I get with lowest (!) detail settings (i.e. Model details, Texture details & sharer to low, no anti-aliasing, no vertical sync & bilinear filtering mode) only like ~50FPS with like 3 Player-Models moving in front of me and <30FPS as soon as someone shoots...
And I get 0 FPS _a lot_ >_<

Is this normal?

thx & bye,
MHOOO

your video drivers are over a year old...try updating them & make sure you've installed the VIA chipset drivers too:

When's the last time you scanned for viruses, spyware, used MSCONFIG to disable useless startup prgrams, defragged?

A week ago (actually that is true for MSCONFIG as well).
I'm using BitDefender 8 here - scanned last WE as well.

What resolution do you play at? 1800x1440? (Then again, I usually use that and I don't have any problems with my 6600gt with all the goodies on).

What's your video card's temp at? Is it overclocked?

I play with 1125*864 (and... it doesn't get _any_ better with 1024*768).
The GPU Temperature is ~32 (thats what the "Geforce 6600GT" Tab within my Screen-settings writes).
I didn't overclock the card, but the manufacturer did:
VGA Memory Clock: 1.1 GHz
VGA Core Clock: 501.4 MHz

Now... what I tried (just for the heck of it) is to set all settings up (i.e. everything to "high" & 2xAA + 2xAF)
and to try it out - and the fun thing here is that its almost the same as it is with low settings...

Hell... is my CPU too slow?
Internal Clock: 2.2 GHz
External Clock: 166.0 MHz

Any ideas :?/

yeah I have a
Pentium 2.6Ghz
Asus P4PE-X motherboard
Geforce fx5200
1024 ram
Windows XP sp2

Last time i can play smoothly with pretty high settings at 1280*1024. Now I'm getting like 10fps. But maybe it has something to do with my psu. Nowadays I get an error coz my psu got some problem.

I had the same problem. The GT needs a hard disk power cord connected to it. If I attach a cd rom power cord the cards plays just like and fx 5200, sometimes worse.
Also, I have to keep my cabinet open because of the excessive heat generated.
Now I have 8x antialiassing and 16x anistropic filtering by default on all games, and this card just gives great performance on all games, including halo at 1024 resolution.
And all this on a 1.7Ghz P4, with 266Mhz ddr ram and agp4x motherboard.

I alrdy have a Power Cord plugged into the Card; I dno about the the temperature thingy... I always thought the NVIDIA Driver Temperature Display is kinda useless... is there maybe another way (Software?) to check the GPU Temperature?

I am not sure this might help, but on my computer I find that only attaching one power cord actually helps. I got 4 power cords, and if I attach 3 of them the card performs quite badly. However, If i attach the fouth power cord the card runs at full blast.
In my case, this cord is the one that is shared by the floppy too.
I have a 300W power supply and have no no issues with my card at all after I attached the right power cord to it.
