Loading DOS game on Win XP

I have finished Prince of Persia (the old game) it actually opens in DOS. But my prob is, how will I load it in DOS so I can key in the "PRINCE MEGAHIT" code? So I can play it in a different way.

Open it from a command prompt.

what command prompt? let's say i open my dos prompt. what command line will i put?
