I'm not precisely a newbie, just perhaps holding on to a lost hope.

So I just bought and installed Left 4 Dead. As I attempted to run it, my screen switched to a close-up, then returned to normal. The game won't launch.

I assume that this is due to my nVidia GeForce4 MX440 card.

So three questions:

1: Am I correct in my assumption?

2. Is there any way to run Left 4 Dead on this card at all?

3. If not (which I'd assume), what would be a relatively inexpensive, alternative L4D-capable card?

Thank you!

Your video card is not supported...it's too old. And you didn't list the rest of your specs but you need a minimum of a P4 3.0GHz & 1GB RAM. Looking at your motherboard model plus the video card, my guess is your system doesn't even come close.

I thought so. Just hanging on to a vain hope. I've got the RAM and memory, not much else. Time to upgrade.

Thank you for responding! :)
