Hello,
I use my laptop for gaming and multimedia purposes, however, lately I am noticing severe lagg issues. A good example of this is when I am playing a game and normally I would have an average of 90 fps (frames per second), but every 3 seconds or so it drops to 20 fps for about half a second and then jumps back to 90, then after about 3 seconds it starts all over again. Now firstly I verified I am using up-to-date drivers.
I do not have a virusscanner/firewall or anything similar active while gaming as I game on my other OS (windows XP). I have not tried gaming on Vista, but, I have tried reinstalling Windows XP and I have also tried a full reinstallation of the laptop (including the Vista partition).Note: this problem does not only occur with newer games, but also occurs with older games.
I am also noticing that when I am both in XP and Vista my "harddrive light" is constantly flickering.
One more thing which might b of use to you; I am using a programme to monitor temperatures for my CPU, GPU and hdd. A while ago I noticed my GPU got about 89 degrees (under load), so I bought an external notebook cooler, which now keeps my GPU at aproximately 76 degrees.
I know this is a lot of information/text but I hope almost everything you need to know in order to help me with this problem is in here. With kind regards,
André Bodden
