Keyboard problems with games

Ive got a very annoying problem. When I play FPS's or any other game that requires keyboard input, my keyboard will become unresponsive after a while. The time changes sometimes it will take a few minutes and sometimes it will run for and hour or more before happing. But when it does happen my computer beeps and the keyboard locks keeping whatever I was depressing at the time "held down". I have gotten it to be more bearable by making the repeat rate lower in teh keyboard option in windows xp and that seems to help lenghten the time i can play. It also seems to help by reinstalling the keyboard driver. I have a PS/2 keyboard and im wondering wut the heck is wrong with it/my computer. If you can help thanks a ton!
