So, I've tried using Joy To Key and the Saitek SST Profiling software. Both work well for controlling games (though Joy To Key a little better for my experience).
Here's the deal. I need a way to start them (or some other piece of software that emulates keyboard and mouse with gamepad) from a script that will also let me set the profile to use.
Basically, this is for an HTPC. I've set up scripting such that when a disc with an .exe file is inserted, the system assumes it's a game. It checks against a database of installed games. If it finds it, it launches that game. Now it acts very much like a console.
Most of these games have direct gamepad control, so that's no problem.
But a few (Hitman 2 for example) do not. So I use things like Joy To Key or Saitek's own SST Profiler software to emulate keyboard and mouse movements with the gamepad. Pretty slick.
The thing is, I have a couple games like this and no way to automatically set the proper profile.
Does anyone know of such a piece of software that can be started from the command line that accepts parameters to let you select which game profile you'd like to load?
This way, I can add that line of code to the script for each game so that when it recognizes the right disc, it will set the right profile in the gamepad/keyboard emu software and then launch the game.
Thanks in advance?
