Specs: Windows XP
I got my Sims 2 disks years ago in addition to the Best of Business expansion pack and a couple stuff packs. If those original Sims 2 disks still exist, I have no idea where the heck they are and I've moved several times since then so the chances of me finding them are slim to none.

However, I still have my expansion pack CD, so I have been able to play the game with the Best of Business disc in.

Now, I was given the Pets expansion pack and IKEA home stuff for Christmas. I attempted to install the stuff pack and everything seemed to be going well until the installer tried to update. It asked me for the 4th Sims disk, and of course I don't have it.

Is there any way around this? Does it have to update?
Thanks for your help.

When I look for games, I look on Craigslist as one of the first places.. I'm more than positive someone has the CD's they are willing to sell for very little money. Case in point, I just got Batman: Arkham City (used one time) for $22.

If you know where to look, you can download just about any game, software, movie, etc for free. But we're not allowed to discuss such things in these forums. Try google.

If u want legit games better wait for steam offer. Sims 2 is old and it sold well, no harm done by downloading it.

Okay so what you're all saying is, no, there's no way around it. That's what I was expecting.

If I download the game from somewhere, will I have to reinstall the whole thing? And if I download it, I still won't have any disks, so couldn't I potentially run into the same problem one day if it wants to update and I don't have the disks?

I think I'd rather purchase the game used from someone (it's on Craigslist in my area for around $5-10). If go that route, will I have to reinstall or can I just insert the newly purchased 4th disk when prompted?

Theoretically, the installation should pick up right where it left off.. so yeah, just insert the 4th disk when it asks for it.

I hope this helped!
