a good card for your system:

ATI RADEON 9550 256MB AGP 8X
$80 MSRP

The card does not require a beast power supply, and as Dell computers usually come with a standard 300W, this is more than enough to handle the card.

P4 D - 2.66GHz
1024MB DDR2 RAM
ASUS A8N-SLI Motherboard
Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra 256MB PCI-E
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
2x Western Digital Raptor 74GB

Do not get a Radeon 9550. It's not a bad card but it's far from being great (I have one in my backup machine). If you're concerned about your PSU, the best card to get that doesn't require the PSU plug-in would be the Radeon 9600XT. 128MB or 256MB really doesn't matter much with these cards. It will spank the crap out of the 9550.

BTW, your Dimension 8200 DOES have an AGP slot...but it's a 4X/2X, not an 8X/4X. In other words, an 8X AGP card WILL work, but it will run at 4X speed.

This 9600XT would be the one to get because it uses DDR2 memory (most use DDR1)...unfortunately, it's currently out of stock:
