Your current PC meets the minimum system requirements for Lost Planet. It *should* play it but will probably have to set it on the lowest settings to reduce lag. Of course, we don't know what else you have going on with your system...could just be a lack of good housekeeping & maintenance. Viruses, spyware, useless programs loading at startup, lack of regular defragging, overloaded with garbage files, crappy anti-virus program (such as Norton or McAfee) slowing your system, still running with old drivers, etc.

What exactly happens when you try to play it?

As for the computer for $250...decent board, CPU & RAM. Video card is mediocre, but better than your 6800. Good price. The board swap will force you to reinstall Windows.

Well $250 is quite a good price for that computer. And that mobo and cpu are good for your gaming.

Norton is an over-bloated hog. Try disabling it before gaming. Otherwise, dump it completely & replace it with either Avast! or AVG Free. You can get them from here:

http://www.filehippo.com

While you're there, download CCleaner & use it regularly. Pay attention while installing it & don't let Yahoo toolbar get installed along with it (it's spyware).
