The Celeron processor is Intel's low-grade chip. It's missing some of the features of a true Pentium. But for office / internet work it's just fine, and it'll save $$ over a Pentium.

AMD has two grades of processors also, the Duron is lower-grade and the Athlon is higher-grade. You'll save money by choosing an Athlon system instead of Pentium.

Keep in mind it's a 'barebones' system, so you'll be spending plenty on the components that aren't included - graphic card, sound card, hard drive(s), speakers, monitor, CD/DVD drives...

The system has a 350 watt power supply, which is fine for the package, but you'll have to upgrade that later as you add real components. Most serious gaming machines require 400-500 watts.

Perhaps you could post a little more detail. What's your target budget? What do you need the computer for?

If you're looking for a decent gaming machine (this ~is~ the Gaming Forum) plan on $1200 or more. For high-end gaming, the sky's the limit, but $2000 will buy components for a super-nice system. For an internet/office machine nearly any computer will do, including the $159 machines at WalMart.com. You get what you pay for...

Your current computer (PIII?) is faster than mine and I can play any game except the very newest. Maybe you just need to upgrade until you're ready to invest in a new system? Just thinking out loud...

Best Wishes,
Bob
