i recently upgraded my motherboard and processor cause im a gamer and i got tired of the lag issues i was having. i upgraded my processor to a LGA 775 P4 630(3.0ghz)presscot core. and a MSI 865PE Neo-3 motherboard with a G. SKill 512mb pc3200 stick of ram. its powered by some generic power suply thats 480watts but seems to be runing fine. and last of all im runing a GeForce 6800 128mb video card. all stuffed into a mid tower ATX doom 3 case. My problem is although im using the stock heatsink and fan plus the side window fan and a huge 120mm back case fan pulling all the air out. my processor was reaching temps of 114F or 47c while playing Battlefield Veitnam with settings all maxed out. i played for about an hour strait and so forth. but my system temps never went above 48c i touched the stock heatsink on the processor and it was warm but not burning hot. im worried that i might burn my processor out if i dont get some better cooling. i havent played doom 3 yet but ill try it sometime today to see where my temps will end up. I want to hear your guys opions on if ill be fine or if i should put another case fan in and maybe a new heatsink with some artic silver. My freind said i should be okay but lol i like secound opions. the temps do kinda worry me thoue. higher than waht i was used to with the AMD celeron processor in my old rig wich was only 1.6ghz. I was using MBM5 for the temp readings.

48C is completely acceptable. Rule of thumb is get concerned at 60C.

okay well thats cool then i guess im okay then with those temps. o yea and jam the 512mb i have in their is just temporary lol you just burned over half the pc gamers in the contry by saying that but its cool i just thought that was funny. anyways. im getting 2x 512mb of G.Skill today in the mail im going to go for 2gig with 4x 512mb of G. Skill ram. thanks for the help herospycho i feel a bit better now.

Update- I tryed out doom 3 this morning and played it on high settings for about and hour. the temp still didnt rise above 48c im pretty happy...i touched the heatsink again and it was a little warmer but not to much. im gonna add another 120mm fan to the front and maybe one on top of the case...thats waht i did with my last case i got a drill and made some holes and custom put a fan on top wich was cool cause it made a big improvement with heat reduction. alright well thanks again.

Your side window fan IS blowing air in, is it not?? I would think just the other 120mm in the front would be good.
