hi all
got my first gaming rig setup finally(nearly!)
now im on the prowl for a good 22 inch LCD
my question is there a REAL deifference between a 5ms response and a 2ms,or is this just a marketing tool, reasoning is that obvioulsy the 5ms is a bit cheaper.will the avergae person notice the diff.
also viewsonic brands seems to be a lil cheaper than teh LGs,Samsungs etc...are the VSs still as good?
grapfix card is an XFX 9800gt if that matters
thanks

"If my answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions" - Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) in Pulp Fiction

long story short, you've got it - it's mostly marketing. quicker response times are better, the only problem is that there is no standard, legal or otherwise, on HOW response times are measured. some measure black (B) to white (W), some B-W-B, some W-B-W, and some measure grey to white to black to grey, or whatever.
These grayscale tests are the most representative of real world situations.
since everyone can measure however they want, don't look for anything reporting slower than 5-8ms. The only thing you can really rely on is manufacturer reputation, and even then there are hits and misses.
Viewsonic makes good monitors. So does Samsung.
