Hey, what is better? A Geforce 4 Ti4200 (64mb version, faster than 128) or Geforce FX5200 128mb? I am getting my GF4Ti 4200 fixed right now (voltage regulator blew). My friend has a 5200, and i want to know which one is better? Thanks- Zack

LOL you cant tell , ?? wait till you get yours back then run a comparison test like 3dmark re:fx "blown into the weeds" is a good phrase. The only thing your Ti doesnt do is support DX9 . so what. Next year you'll probably upgrade to a better card anyway. confirmation here;

Just because the FX 5200 ultra has a higher core clock, doesn't mean its faster than the ti4200.

The 5200 is the "MX" card of the GeForce FX range, but many people fall into the trap of buying one because its a GeForce FX :(
Its just about as good as a GeForce 4 mx 440 with DX9 added on really.
If you want a performence gain from your 4200, they can easily be overclocked to 4400 speeds and be pushed to 4600 speeds :)
Although it doesn't support DX9, it will still run DX9 games, but rather sluggish

i just looked at some benchmarks and it looks like the Ti4200 is a little faster. but it didnt draw alot of items in the benchmark screen shots ,that the 5200 ultra had no problems with.

That could very well be a driver issue rather than the card itself.

Just a question, I have the TI 4200 And I did the updates to DX9 as soon as I installed XP, same time I got my the 4200. Could that be causing low frame rates and sluggishness in games? If so how would I go about going back down to Dx8?
