OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: 2.8GHz/256MB
Comment:

I have 256MB RAM and I have a game that requires 512MB RAM minimum, or it won't run. I played another language version and 256MB works fine, so is there a way to trick the program into thinking I have 512MB RAM instead of 256MB?

DDR-SDRAM is cheap right now...bite the bullet & buy more RAM. XP will run MUCH better with 512MB & most gamers use 1024MB

Athlon XP 1800+
8.5 x 200MHz
1024MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP1

Yeah, just go to a gig. It's under $100 easy.

I've just discovered I need to do the same thing for my video card, and I have a laptop so I can't change that. Also I'm a student so im not exactly able to spend $100 at the moment...

You can run games on specs lower than the minimum required. Just don't expect them to ALWAYS run, or run particularly well. Most of the time they're guidelines, because anything lower will give a really crappy game experience.

If a game says something like your video card not being supported, though, always count that as not being able to play the game

It's ok because 1. I used a packet editor and 2. I finally got my 1GB RAM working :D
