I'm thinking that the GeForce Go 6150 might be the best.. But I'm not 100% sure how it lines up with the ATI choice, I know it would be better than the Intel GMA 950... both would be better than the GMA 950.

Depends on what you want to do with the laptop.

Do you want more multimedia or do you want better gaming performance? Which games?

I like AMD, but I'd go with an Intel based laptop personally. They tend to be far more reliable.

Jack it to a Core 2 Duo for $100, and an X1400 for $100.

Niether. I would be best to to save up some more and get a decent IGP in that laptop if you want to play games. This is one of those 3rd and 6 and throwing for only 5 yard questions. Why fall short of what you really want and save up some more get something that will work.
