Comment: Hello I just got a new dell 9300 inspiron notebook with 17 inch widescreen. Ive noticed among other things that images dont look good on this computer, I mean their jagged and seem to have a lot of lines in them aposed to the 15inch I had before where images were smooth. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Ive also noticed that many webpages arnt setup for such a large screen and dont look good, tables are out of whack and such, any suggestions for better surfing will be apreciated! Thanks sleeves

Reply: (edit)Screen resolution is set to 1440x900, Ive tried the smaller resolutions but I guess since Im on a widescreen no matter how small I go it allways streches the screen to the full width of my laptop. This causes things to look funny and out of whack streching them out from left to right. The 1440x900 is the only resolution that looks normal. All drivers are installed that I know of. The thing that I notice most is when Im viewing any type of graphics they are jagged and sometimes hard to make out, especially photos, very jagged with lots of lines. Any suggestions? Thanks sleeves

Reply: (edit)Ok I fixed my problem for anyone whos interested in the solution. I went to display/settings/advanced and increased the dpi to 150%. This basically magnified all images and graphics to better fit the screen size. Graphics and images are still a bit jagged but its much better than the 120% that I had it at before. I did try 100% and this is clearly the best for graphics and images but on this size screen it makes everything tiny I mean really small. 150% dpi is a happy medium. Sleeves
