I have an ati radeon 9700 pro graphics card, AGP of course. I want to install the best AGP card possible in my system. I dont want to replace the Mobo with PCIe, because i also plan on getting a new PC but will keep this one around for friends to game with me. I tend to lead toward Ati radeon, but any feedback would be appreciated. I have many FPS's such as battlefield 2, fear, doom 3, quake 4, etc. etc. I am hoping that a beefier card will allow me to play on high settings with AA and AF enabled.
Thank You

You can get a Geforce 7800GS for about $275-300 or an X850XT for about $250

if u can find one, the gainward bliss 7800gs is the best and fastest agp card available. it has a full fledged 7800gt core completely unlocked and 512mb GDDR3 memory. it is basically a PCI-E beast on AGP.

they r mainly only available in europe but if u can find one to ship here ur computer will be the s---.

Missing a very important point in all this:
There's no sense getting an AGP card that will be heavily bottlenecked within the system. Keep that in mind.
I personally would be looking at the X1600Pro for around $125. I just don't see a lot of point putting anything higher than that into a 2.4GHz P4 that doesn't even appear to be the "800MHz bus" type.

ya its Bus Clock: 533 megahertz, how "bottlenecked" would the X850XT be? in comparison to the X1600Pro

The X850XT would give better performance without a doubt. However, I don't see any game that one can run that the other can't, and I seriously doubt the X850XT would boost performance that reflects the price difference.

gainward 7800GS+ agp best AGP graphic card you can buy... It has 24 pipeline and similar to 7900GT in PCI-express... But as far as your CPU goes, it will be the bottleneck point...
TMP-Man
Asus P5P800-SE
P4 506 @ 4100Mhz 1.525v
Thermaltake CLP0024 w/ 2000RPM FAN + AS5
1GB Corsair 2-3-3-5 DDR400
40GB 5400RPM/120GB 7200RPM HD
Radoen 9500 mod 9700 @ 375/600 CHS+RHS

One more thing, my power supply unit model # (NPS 250KB B) i think is only 250 watts or even 200, not sure. The X1600 Pro recommends a 350 watt supply. What issues, if any, would there be or how will it affect the performance?

You'll have general system instability.
You're gonna need a better power supply with any card you're considering to purchase. I'm actually somewhat surprised your 9700 Pro is working okay.
