Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but, when I play a game, any game, I only see half of the screen. This has happend before and I fixed it but now I cant seem to remember what I did. I think it is becuase the computer thinks I have 2 monitors, which I dont, and I have not touched anything to say to go to two monitors. To try to fix it, I right-clicked on the desctop, selected properties, and went to settings, because I found a thing on the web that said to do that, but I dont see anywhere where I can change it to only one screen. Maybe I went to the wrong place. Also, when i open otherthings, like paint,it shows up in and is not cut in half, same with AOL. Please help and sorry for typing so much. If you need more info, let me know. O yah, I have a GeForce FX 5200 vido card.

"I have a GeForce FX 5200 vido card"

Not a very good gaming card.

"the computer thinks I have 2 monitors"

You have to use the nVidia Control Panel. If you have an nVidia icon next to the clock, right click on it & select 'nVidia Control Panel', then click 'Display'. Under under Multiple Display, click 'change display configuration'

"Alright, now what?"

Try upgrading your video drivers. Here's the latest available, followed by the "Driver Installation Hints"

Many higher performance AGP cards have to be connected to the power supply, so make sure your's is up to the task BEFORE you upgrade the video card. Also, make sure your system has an AGP slot. Some lower end Dells have standard PCI slots only.

So far thanks for the help, but none of that has worked, I remember that the other time this happened, I went to somewhere and I clicked on something like "only use one monitor". It also had a big screen with a number 1 on it and a smaller screen with a number 2 on it, but I dont remember where that was....when you said

"Under under Multiple Display, click 'change display configuration'"

What do I do once I open the "change display configuration"? I dont see anything in there where I can change anything that would do anything

And for the video card, I have a PCI slot, not AGP

I still need help on the screen problem, if it helps, I only see the screen when I play games, i can still run other programs like AOL and it shows up fine. Anyone can help me on the screen problem? As I said before, the first time I fixed this problem, I clicked on something like "only use one monitor" or something like that and in that same box, there was two boxes, one with a 1 on it that was big and another one with a 2 on it but was smaller. anyone know how i can get to that box? it could be in my video card settings or in the pc setings, not sure.

O um ok...
I found out that all I had to do was go into my video card settings and turning off "Antialiasing settings" and Anisotropic filtering"

Im not sure if I have to turn both of them off but when I did, the problem was fixed.

I will try turning them back on to see if I need to have both of them off but I cant do that till the weekend so I may post it later.
