Did you check the system requirements & make sure your system at least meets the minimum before buying the game? The requirements *should* be printed on the box.

Go to the following site & pick the correct "The Sims 2" from the list. You may need to install an ActiveX file...if prompted, go ahead & install it:

Post back with the results. My guess is you need to upgrade your hardware...video card at least.

Stick to one post...this one. First thing we need to know is the specifications of your computer. Like..

Desktop or laptop?

Manufactured pc like a Dell, hp, Acer, etc. and exact model number?

If home built, exact model of motherboard and video card?

We just can't help if we don't know what we're working on.

What part(s) of your machine does not meet the minimum requirements?

Return the game and try to get your money back.

Play the game on another machine that meets or exceeds minimum requirements.

Buy a new laptop that's designed for gaming.

Finally, read the box before you buy.

If you can't do any of the above, I'm afraid you're screwed.
