hi, i been looking at 9800 pro (256) 9600 xt cause of my psu and 6600-GT-. i pcv-rx650 512--->going to 768mb. 80 gig hard drive. right now i got this gay crap 64 mb nvidia model 64 pro video card. im trying to upgrade it to the 9600 xt just becase i dont need to upgrade my psu. but i got the gay sony computer and if i buy the 9800 pro or 6600-GT- THEN I WOULD have to get a new psu. that would be able to fit into the sony case, but its so hard to find cause the gay sony made the psu this odd dimensions. so would i be able to run an external psu. any opinons on that.

then you guys would say i should upgrade my cpu. yes but i need to find out the highest that my motherboard can handle or if i would have to upgrade my motherboard which i really dont want to do. if you guys can find me any good graphics card with a <290 watt psu. that would be able to run ,...bf2...hl2...css...cs...aand TODAYS DEMANDING 3D GAMES!...wat else are there. any opinons

Dude, enough of the gay crap. It's been stated on here MANY times before that OEM systems are not easily upgradeable because of the way they're built & the components that are used in them. You bought the friggin SONY, so deal with it. I wouldn't sink any more money into it...either sell it or keep as a backup, then build a "real" computer.

BTW, you probably have a microATX system which uses a microATX PSU...the dimensions are totally different than a standard PSU

Yes, also gay bashing your computer always helps to make it better.

OEM systems are not easily upgradable, as said, but it can be done. i bought my vectra vl400 originally with a 700mhz celeron and 128mb pc133 (signle stick). i now have it with a 1.0ghz pentium 3 and 768mb RAM. (256 + 512 PC133). usually a bios update will allow a faster CPU. next im gonna buy a Tualatin core pentium 3 1.4ghz with adapter so as the really maximize this system's potential before i need to get a new one. as for the PSU, i dont know.

LMAO!! Are you serious?? You have a lot of different options but what you're proposing is simply ridiculous.

And Dragon306, you're touting your socket 370 upgrades like you did something fantastic...all you did was spend a good chunk of change to turn an old low end system into an old mediocre one. I can't believe you're actually considering investing more! A low end Sempron system would kick the crap out of it without breaking a sweat.

Dude, for your own sake, give this up now. You're gonna blow something up before it's all said and done. If by a miracle that doesn't happen, you're still wasting your time and money.

System requirements for BF2...

Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
1.7 GHz Pentium 4 / Athlon XP or greater
512 MB or more
460MB of HD Space
DirectX 9.0c compatible (*video)
DirectX 9.0c compatible (sound)
*Video
Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
ATI Radeon 8500 or greater

Your system:

"i now have it with a 1.0ghz pentium 3 and 768mb RAM. (256 + 512 PC133)."

I'll never believe BF2 even runs worth anything on your computer if at all, and there's no way HL2 and CS:S are running great or even good.

So the feeling is mutual. :-)

Sorry, did get a little confused.

You have a 1.6GHz p4. That means you still don't meet the minumum system requirements. You claim now it runs BF2 great. Still not buying it. It may run, but it isn't running great.

It's also surprising to see when someone asks for advice, but when the advice isn't what they desired, they feel the urge to come back and insult the people who tried to help. Not a thanks for even bothering to try and help, but a curt statement of...

"well i should never listen to you guys ever again"

Just don't say anything if you're not gonna thank someone for at least attempting to help.
