I bought a new laptop and now no games work

Specs: Windows 7
On Saturday I bought a new Toshiba satellite C660/C660D with a ATI Radeon mobility graphics card. 4200 series. I wacked up some games CODMW2, Medival war 2, Assassins creed and all played. Then all of a sudden all my games failed to play or even start. I can use applications, web browsers, live messenger etc... but when I try to play any game the auto loader kicks in then when I press play it just exists to the desktop with no error, regardless of the game.

Open up task manager and how many times I tried to play from the auto loader there is a process still running for the game. If I exist the process and play the auto-loader again I still have the same problem.

Its a brand new laptop and I've updated my drivers but still no joy.

Any ideas?

I doubt it's your graphics card, I have the next one up in my laptop and games run smoothly.

Have you tried rebooting? That's always my first suggestion. In a nutshell, the windows operating system doesn't completely retrieve RAM from programs after they are closed. So running high graphics game like those, can cause your computer to end up running poorly after a while.

Since this is happening with multiple games, I highly doubt it's the discs themselves. However it could be the disc reader. Grab a disc off your shelf (preferably not a high graphics game) and test it out. If this turns out to be the problem, take your laptop back get them to replace either the part or even the laptop itself you are persistently having problems.

That's really all I have to suggest, so, good luck.

Can I put a question here?
