Hyperthreading support for gaming ?

Do you need to be running Windows XP Pro to realize the Hyperthreading capabilities of your processor while gaming. I realize the O.S. has to be XP Pro to realize the HT in the desktop enviroment. But what about during game play?

don't know what "mu" is. "IMO" is "in my opinion"
Now about your question: If I go into device manager,it lists my proc. as a multiprocessor. Pentium 4 3.0Ghz HT, running XP Home. I think you do need XP Pro to take advantage of the hyperthreading capabilities, but I'm not sure. I don't think any games currently use the hyperthreading. There are games coming out that will take advantage of the newer dual core processors, in older games the code wasn't written for HT.
