Specs: Windows XP, 1.98GB of ram
i installed directx10 it installed succesfully and then i copy a game from my friend name as "prototype" this game contain directx9 . when i was on installing the game . THE message comes that is like this "please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.logof your windows folder to detremine your problem". then i look on web for clue . then i take suggestion that uncheck all microsoftwares by running program.and ialso disable antivirus that is net protector antviurus2010 . and then itry to install directx9 but it didn't work so please tell me 100% correct solution about thi matter.PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XP includes DX9 but it does NOT officially support DX10. Whatever you installed is some sort of hack & is NOT supported by Microsoft. For true DX10 support, you need Vista or Win7. Uninstall DX10.

Net Protector Antivirus 2010 is NOT an antivirus, it's the opposite. Get that crap off your system as soon as possible! Here's the removal instructions:

Once you remove it, install Microsoft's free antivirus program, update it, then run a complete system scan:

who told u to install direct x10 on win xp? xp sp2/sp3 comes with direct 9c which is enough for win xp system. If re-installing direct x isn't help try to do a system restore.
I hope u have meet minimum requirements for playing prototype.
