|You can run the games Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 on your computer without an emulator because they actually eventually came out for PC. You can also run them on an Xbox emulator. Halo 3 however you cannot, since it never came out for PC and no 360 emulator exists.|
An emulator is program which enables your computer to emulate or act like a game console and therefore read and run its games. Emulators are also used to change, modify or hack into existing games.
In order to have and run an emulator on your pc it is important for you to know you must have legally purchased and own the council and games you are emulating. It is illegal to emulate a council or games you did not legally purchase. In fact there are emulators like the Xbox and ps2 and even ps1 that require you to insert the consoles BIOS in order for you to run it. You can obtain these out of the internet illegally, which I do not recommend.
To emulate the newer gaming consoles like Xbox, PS2 etc. you need good gaming system with good graphics, ram and processing power. These newer gaming-console emulators are often difficult to use since the settings for different games differ and need to be modified in order for the emulation to be playable. Certain settings may cause a game to run well and some may cause it to run poorly. The settings that can run a game perfectly may not work equally for others.
