Okay, i bought my Computer package about 1 year ago now, it cost me $1800 AUD.

It consists of a 17inch CRD monitor, Creative Speakers, Microsoft keyboard and optical mouse and the tower. The tower consists of a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz, 512mb Ram with a Nvidia Geforce FX5700 Graphics card and Soundblaster live sound card.

I don't really no much about the computer itself apart from what i just explained. All i want to no is that a decent system for gaming and rendering, using programs such as AutoCAD 2005etc. Anything i should no about it or the components? Any reviews on my Graphics card you no of?

Cheers

Well an extra 512 RAM wouldnt hurt for AutoCAD and an upgrade to the Graphics card would also be good if you want to play the newest games with high levels of details.

Yea thanks for the reply their Matt, my AutoCAD does run a little sad with big 3D projects, but it renders pretty quick and really high detail, can't complain their. I don't own any games that my system can't handle, lol i only play Motocross Madness 2 and Battlefield 1942 though. What would be a good upgrade in graphics card and for what price?

If your playing Battlefield 1942, 512mb of ram is sufficient and so if your graphics card too.

If your just using those applications, I think your system will be fine.
For overclocking your graphics card, try this:

That's about the same age as my system I built myself. It did have a 9600se but that died under "suspicious" circumstances... ;-)

I have added another 512Mb of RAm since I built it and put the 6600gt in to replace the crappy (and dead) 9600se :~)

All in all I would say that's a pretty good system!

So can i just go buy any stick of 512mb RAM? or does it have to be the same brand as before? How much should that cost and what would be a worth while upgrade of graphic card to enhance AutoCAD, with gaming still at this level or even better? Prices are helpful thanks, i live in australia.

Yeah, you can buy pretty much any brand of RAM they don't have to be the same. But you shoiuld make sure its pc3200 or DDR400 RAM. My second stick cost me just under £25 in the UK but that was value stuff. It is a worthwhile upgrade though.
