Hello every1!!
OK...the other day I was chatting with a friend and he told me that u could play Duke Nukem 3D online, and he told me how 2...he told me 2 go on Setup and select 2 play online...there were many options...serial, modem, network, and TEN...
I think that TEN should b 2 play online on a server, and network 2 play on a network...
I tried TEN, but it told me "Error: not in Windows". I'm running WinXP, and I ran the program in Win95 compatibility mode...
Then I tried Network, then I clicked on "Launch Duke Nukem 3D" but the program just exited out...
What's the problem??
Thanx!! ;)

Not true.

TEN (Total Entertainment Network) was a program (paid service) that allowed for online play of certain games, duke3d happened to be one of them. Back in 1996, the only way to play duke3d online was with TEN (3drealms must have given online rights to the TEN network). I don't know if TEN still exists, most likely it doesn't.

However, I was able to play duke3d online with a program called "Kali". Kali was a great little program that allowed anyone with an internet connection to play almost any game online. Back in 1997 i paid $20 for a lifetime subscription (havn't used it in years, lol). Duke3d worked perfectly using kali, aside from the lag a dial-up connection produced. Kali does still exist (kali.net), and i'm sure (maybe) duke3d can still be played (pending windows compatibility of course).

To answer your question, yes it is possible, but you may have some research to attend to, i.e. there may be other programs available to play duke3d online. BTW, I have to give props to that game, it redefined the FPS genre and provided me with hours of modem/online gaming fun.
