I've asked this question before but the responses have confused me, I don't know how to configure port settings or whatever. I have a router and I can't host games on Warcraft 3 without it saying I'm behind a firewall even if I disable it. Can someone help me with detailed instructions that even an idiot can understand?, hehe :D thanks

First on your XP machine (I asusme that's the computer hosting the game) hit start - run - cmd
Type ipconfig
Write down your machine's ip address.
Then go into your router's setup (check its documentation on how to do so). Find the menu for port forwarding.
Enter the port number or numbers that Warcraft 3 requires, and your IP address into the menus.
This from Blizzard's site states the ports you need...
"Allow port 6112 TCP out and allow established sessions in
Allow port 6112 TCP in (hosting custom games)
Allow port 6113-6119 TCP out and in (hosting custom games if you’ve changed the default port in the Options/Gameplay screen)"http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msi0445p
All those should go to the machine's IP that is hosting the game.

shouldn't he also disable the sp2 firewall? or does that not affect it?
2.8c 800mhz fsb
1 gb 512x2 geil dual channel
asus p4p800 se
60 gb ibm 7200 rpm
80 gb maxtor 7200
thermaltake va3000
sapphire 9800 pro 128mb

He may need to add the exe's of Warcraft 3 to the exception list in the firewall if it's enabled. However, I think he's already added those to the exception list if he's playing WC3 already. ;-)
But no, I woulnd't disable it. You need a software and hardware firewall these days.
