to answer your question so then yes they are hi-end cards except that 4600 but if you wanna get a new card first question is "how much are you willing to spend for the card?"

$200 -$400 Radeon 9800 Pro/XT or FX5900/5950
$400 - up GF6800U or RAdeon x800, x800se, x800Pro, or x800XTd.

Actually..

Fx5600 is a mid-range card. All I can say is that it has bad performance compared to others that are about the same price. A 9600 Pro would perform much better in Dx9 games(including FarCry). But even with a card like 9600 Pro it will not run FarCry or Ut2k4 etc. smoothly without lowering the settings(Low/Medium).

a high-end card would be a Fx5900 XT/SE - 5950U or R9700 - R9800XT.

hope this helps

p.s. any mid-range card should run CoD over 100~ fps...so no need to worry about that =)

What's wrong with ut2k4 with max settings with a 9600 pro? That's fine. If you have a slow CPU, then you'll notice slow down but if you have a decent CPU then it'll be ok. That Unreal engine (I think the Unreal Warfare engine powers UT2k4) is kind of CPU based. Because I have a 9800 Pro and a P4 2.8c but I get out performed by machines with 9700 Pro's if they have faster CPU's.

I should mention though, yes, Far Cry dogs most hardware right now.
