I need help...

Im 10 and i don't know too much about computers.

I got the demo download for The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth 2.

When i tried to play it, the message box said i needed to install DirectX 9.0 .

When i tried to install it, there was a message saying that it had failed the Windows Logo testing.

When i check the DXdiag, it said: (display)

The file i81xdnt5.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

And on the sound...

The file smwdm.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

PLZ, if someone can help, please do!

OH YA!

If your hardware won't support DX9 - you are wasting your time and it looks like you've got integrated video, which is most likely why.

Your's going to have to buy a directX 9 graphics card. all retail stores basicly sell all directX 9 graphics now of days. wal-mart, circuit city, best buy, Fry's Office Depot, Staples etc.. just to name a few.

Assuming that you don't have a pci-16x slot considering all intergrated graphics processors that includes pci-16x slot on the motherboard are directX 9, then you will need to know whether your motherboard has an agp slot on it or just regular pci slots on it. Just look up who makes your computer and look up your model on their website and find the info there.

If you do have a agp slot make surt it's 8x/4x compatible, then go out and buy an agp 8x/4x card. If you only have regular pci slots then the best you can do is a (pci) and not (pci-16x) pci ATI X1300. Don't get pci with pci-16x cards mixed up they use totally diff slots pci-x16 is a new technology that replaced agp.

As for your sound card, the WHQL message is just saying that your sound card wasn't offically tested by Microsoft, just ignore it and countinue anyway It will still work as normal.

I looked it up and i found that it has three
regular PCI slots.

I was just wondering were the price range would be on the graphics card.

Thanx anyways for the help.

The best you can do is a PCI version of an ATI X1300.

Radeon X1300
256MB GDDR2
128-bit
