I don't know very much about computers at all, so please, be patient with me. ^^;
I'm trying to run the game Second Life on my computer but i think my graphic card is not good enough. I guess an option would be to buy a good one and put it in my computer? But i'm hoping theres a driver upgrade i can use to run the game without having it crash on start up.
The graphic card i have is VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP. If anyone knows of anything that would help, please reply~
Simply put, the VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP is NOT designed for gaming & there's nothing you can do that will make it work. You need to install a *real* video card. You also need more RAM...256MB is barely enough for WinXP. You should have at least 1GB for overall decent performance.
Post the model number of your eMachines & one of us will be able to look up the specs & make some suggestions. How much would you be willing to spend on upgrades?
I have run Second life on the castlerock chipset with a 1.0ghz C3. It ran. I wouldn't call it playable, but Second life will run with a few options disabled. I'm sure with a better performing CPU it would play better.
