I have a Windows XP and don't know hot to fix or what a video card is

The video card, in layman's terms, is what allows your computer to send graphics to the monitor. A higher quality video card, the better graphics it is able to display.

I can't offer very much assistance on updating however, as you have supplied no information at all on your computer specs, manufacturer etc. Supply this information, and we can determine whether or not you are even able to upgrade.

What is it that you want to know? Here's an example of a video card:

It's possible that your system doesn't have a video card at all. Many systems have the video/graphics built into the motherboard. This is known as an IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor). If that's what you have, the IGP can be disabled & a better performing video card can be installed to take over the graphics duties. A video card is almost always superior to an IGP.
