help, no sound fx in san andreas

I recently got GTA: san andreas (second edition) for my pc and after i installed it I tried playing everything runs perfect exept I get no sound fx, (I do get radio stations but no fx...)

The radio stations are all encoded audio (rather than playing from CD), so it's a bit weird you get no sound FX. Have you tried disabling EAX etc / getting the latest drivers for your sound card
