OS: xp pro
CPU/Ram: P(D)840 3.2ghz / 1gb (2 X
Model/Manufacturer: intel
Comment:
i don't have a clue why its doing this. i suspect it could be the amount of ram but not sure. in call of duty 2 it will hang up and lag for about 3 seconds about every 5-10 minutes of game play. in battlefield 2 it will either lag and hang at the start for about 10-20 seconds really bad or be patchy like call of duty. i have call of duty graphics set for optimal performance and battlefield 2 is all set on high res 1024x728@60hz. can you give me some ideas on white i need to do to get rid of this

Video card:
Evga Geforce 7300 GT 512mb

The 7300GT isn't a really great card, especially if you have the DDR2 version...it could be you're expecting too much? Try backing off on your game settings.

Also make sure your system is free of spyware, has the latest drivers installed, & all useless background apps are disabled.

I figured the 7300gt is a s---ty card since it only has a 333mhz clock speed but it was a good price at the time. i only have 1 gig of ram and almost half of it is used up on apps on startup. I am going to upgrade to a BFG Ge-Force 7950gt 512mb video card and 2 gigs of 667mhz gaming ram. how is this setup?

Start by disabling the apps at startup. I don't know exactly what you have but you don't need things like your printer, AOL or Yahoo messenger, Adobe, Winzip, MS Office, etc loading at startup.

Run MSCONFIG from the start menu, click the startup tab & look over the list
