hello
I have 4GB of RAM, windows server 2003, 360GB HDD.
I bought this computer to make some gaming servers. My main problem is - i try to run halo dedicated server for halo combat evolved, but something wrong with it.
1) i can't find my own server in halo server lists
2) i think server is not running at all.this is link where i follow step by step instruction to create server. in comand promt it says that server is running and it shows even how many players are currently playing game. usualy it shows 0/16 players but recently i find out that 4/16 where playing on the server (that means that server works, maybe? ). well i dont understand if server is running properly why i can't join it from another computer or even find my server name in the list of halo internet game servers.
i have some ideas about that
1) server patch differs from my game's patch?
well i have halo combat evolved updated million times to find if any of that updates worked for server. ( updated - v1.2; v1.6; v1.7; v.1.8;)
2) server IP adress is different from what i am typeing?
maybe but I have tried every possible IPs...or meybe dedicated server does not work for halo combat evolved? i have been trying to create my own dedicated server for more than 3 weeks...
if anyone knows how to create normal halo dedicated server, that can be played with normal halo combat evolved version please help or if you understand what is my problem please write me your suggestions or otherwise my head will blow up =)
here is my servers ini.txt file
***
sv_name geohalo
sv_public 1
sv_maxplayers 16
sv_mapcycle_timeout 30
sv_mapcycle_add timberland CTF
sv_mapcycle_add dangercanyon assault
sv_mapcycle_begin
***i run normal haloded.exe file (i have tryed many different versions, 1.2; 1.6; 1.8; by the way only haloded.exe v1.6 showed that for 10 minutes 4/16 players where playing on server, other versions show only 0/16)
