Hi I have a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Mb card. I have just installed the Half-Life2 game and what I experience is a lot of tiny red and white dots all over the screen when I'm playing....Anyone who has any suggestions? I tried to download latest driver but it did not seem to improve a lot...

Sounds like your card is overheating, therefore artifacting.
Have you experienced this in any other NEW games? Such as FarCry or DOOM3? Have you overclocked your Grahpics Card? If you have, turn the core and memory down a bit.
Try the 'ATI Optimized Driver 1.7 Ultra' driver as well. This is supposed to give the best results in HL2. Works for me.

Thanks for the tip!
I saw some dot here and there while playing FarCry and NfS underground but it was much less and almost always during those animated start-ups...not while playing...I did not overclock my card either...Strange thing though...Yesterday everything worked perfectly after a while....why I don't know...but I download the driver just in case
