I got me a new computer recently and it came with HalfLife2, problem is, it just constantly freeze at random spots with looping sound.
I tried swapping ramsticks, i have 2 512, tried playing with each one alone, still crash!
I have a CPU temp. monitoring tool, and it says CPU at a 45C during gameplay.
Graphic card(X850XT) is fine because i've been playing Doom 3(among other games)highest setting no problem, but HL2 crashes.
Mainboard, an A8V-E should be enough for HL2 right? So what's the deal with HL2? their support is useless, i've sent Emails to their support but no reply. I'm begining to think the Valve programing team is nothing more than a bunch of monkeys pounding on keyboards!
I'm confident computing.net users are much capable of helping me, so please, help me.

Have you seen this?
Asus P4P800
P4 2.4c @ 3000 Mhz Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu HSF
ATI Radeon 9800 pro
1 GB OCZ pc 3500 ram
Sound Blaster audigy LS

yes i have indeed, and it was useless because i've tried disabling my sound card and it still crashes like crazy.
it's funny, my computer works perfect with other games but with halflife2, buggy as hell
